At McQuiston Dental, we use digital imaging to diagnose, treat, and help you maintain your dental health. Digital imaging is an invaluable aid in examining your mouth because it allows Dr. Scott McQuiston to see beyond what is visible to the naked eye and because the images can be transferred easily to the appropriate specialists or insurance companies when needed.
You may have heard of a CAT scan, but were you aware that the same technology can be used for your smile? Dr. McQuiston can use a process known as Cone Beam Computed Tomography, or CBCT to examine the outside of your tooth, and look deep inside to locate the exact postion of a tooth’s root or the area of a problem. A CBCT scan allows our dentist to perform guided implant placement and other special treatments without referring you to other providers.
Dr. McQuiston can also use this technology to locate and diagnose the following problems:
- Tooth decay
- Development abnormalities
- Cysts & abscesses
- Damaged dental fillings
- Oral tumors
- Dental infection
- Loss of bone
